How to Make a New Retail Purchase

The New Retail Purchase flow is designed to streamline the selling of items that a customer would be happy to purchase during their visit.

The New Retail Purchase flow is primarily designed to streamline the selling of items such as water bottles, blankets, toys and other articles that a customer may require or would be happy to purchase during their visit. You may, however, utilise this flow for the upsell of new bookings within this flow.

  1. In the Ventrata terminal app, go to the Sales tab.

  2. Tap the Products / Retail purchases button.

  3. Scan a code assigned to the item, select an item category or press the All items button.

  4. Select an item using the + icon next to the desired product.

  5. Adjust the amount in the basket using the - and + icons.

  6. If there are any associated promotions, select the promotion or promo code from the list by pressing the Select text.

  7. You can choose to either

    • press the Checkout button to finish the booking

    • continue adding new items or bookings

  8. Fill out the Customer Info page.


    📒 NOTE

    The form contains multiple fields not all of which are required. At minimum, fill out the required fields (*).


  9. Press the Continue button.

  10. Press the Continue button.

  11. Select a payment method:

    • Card

    • Cash - enter the amount received from the customer in the 'Amount tendered' field, in the next step the app will calculate the change for the customer

    • Gift Card - scan the card's QR code or enter its reference number using the app keyboard

    • Other - manually enter the method's reference number in the 'Reference' field


      📗 TIP

      Split payments are also allowed. Change the total in the first selected payment method to the desired amount, have the customer pay this partial amount and press the Pay Now button. Change the amount in any other payment method and have the customer pay that amount, the press the Pay Now button. Repeat until the entire amount is paid.


  12. Press the Pay Now button at the bottom of the page and request the selected payment method from the customer.

  13. Once the item(s) are paid for, a confirmation page is shown and a new order can be placed on the device.
