How to connect your VIT Travel products to Ventrata to sync availability, pricing, bookings & more

This connection enables you to have your products sold by VIT Travel in a more automated way, eliminating the need to manually manage availability, pricing, and bookings. Capabilities of this connection allow you to:

  • Sync availability, and pricing for your VIT Travel products with Ventrata.

  • Receive bookings, updates, and cancellations from VIT Travel to Ventrata.

  • Issue vouchers/tickets from Ventarta to VIT Travel customers instantly.

Creating Connection

Before you begin:

  • You must have a commercial agreement with VIT Travel for them to sell your products.

  • You must have VIT Travel created as a Reseller in Ventrata with their pricing (retail, wholesale/commission) configured correctly. Note that this API connection requires that the reseller is set to the "Bill to my account" settlement method.

  1. In Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections โ†’ Connections, click + New Connection, and select VIT Travel from the list of partners.

  2. Select VIT Travel Reseller from the list of your resellers (must be created before creating a connection). The connection will inherit the reseller's configuration like pricing, whitelisted destinations, products, etc.

  3. (Optional) You can also set the connection Name of your choosing, which may be helpful if you plan to have multiple VIT Travel connections and would like to differentiate between them more easily in the future. If needed, you can also whitelist/blacklist products or destinations on the connection level in addition to what you have configured on the reseller, which can be helpful if you have multiple VIT Travel connections linked to one reseller.



Mapping Products

  1. Email the OCTO API key shown on the connection you've created to your VIT Travel contact and ask for them to map your products using Ventrata's OCTO API. Typically it takes a few business days for the VIT Travel team to complete this.

  2. (Optional) While the VIT Travel team can access the full list of products you've enabled for them on the connection, you can also specify which product you would like them to map by providing the Product and Option IDs displayed on the connection page when you contact them.

Troubleshooting

Issue

Possible Solutions

No products are displayed on the connection page.

Please double-check which destinations, products, and options are whitelisted/blacklisted on reseller and connection. If this does not resolve, check if your products and options are made available for sale on the Direct API source. If the issue persists, please contact our support team.
