Your terminal device requires a static IP address that does not change over time, thus ensuring consistent network access.

📗 TIP

We recommend reserving an IP address in advance. Make sure the IP address you choose is:

  • outside the range of your router's DHCP pool (to prevent conflicts),

  • not already assigned to another device.

Find IP Settings on Windows

  1. Connect your computer to the same network as your terminal.

  2. Press the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog box.

    📗 TIP

You can click the Windows Start menu instead.

  3. Type 'cmd' and press the OK button or the Enter key on your keyboard.

  4. In the Command Prompt window, type ipconfig/all and press the Enter key.

  5. Note the following information:

    • Subnet Mask

    • Default Gateway (Router)

    • DNS Servers

    📗 TIP

You can also use a public DNS server, like Google's 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 but using it may slow down some processes.

❗️IMPORTANT❗️

DO NOT COPY THE IP ADDRESS FROM YOUR COMPUTER. Using it could cause an IP conflict on the network.

📒 NOTE

It is possible that security filters are enabled on your network and these IP settings will not work for your terminal setup. It is recommended to contact your system administrator for more information about possible filters.
