How to Set up Elo i-Series

Follow the steps to complete the initial setup of your Elo device.

This article is a manual to assemble and configure most Elo i-Series tablets (10", 15", 22") supported by Ventrata.

Thanks to their versatile uses, Elo device can be used in a variety of settings, including desktop POS systems, customer-facing displays or self-service kiosks. Connectivity options can be further expanded with the addition of an Elo Backpack.

Prerequisites:

  • Reach out to Ventrata Technical Support or your Customer Success Representative who register your Elo device on EloView and push the appropriate version of the Ventrata terminal app.

  • Make sure that the location where the device will be used has internet access.


    πŸ“— TIP

    All Ventrata-supported Elo devices come with Wi-Fi connectivity. Alternatively, you can connect via Ethernet. Plug the Ethernet cable directly into the tablet's LAN port, or if you are using the Elo Backpack, connect the cable via the backpack.


  • The device is plugged into a power outlet.

Enroll device with EloView

  1. Turn on the device using the POWER button on the back of the device.

  2. On the Connect to Wi-Fi page select your Wi-Fi network.

  3. When connected, the device may perform multiple updates.

  4. One the following screen, select Enroll with EloView.

  5. Confirm by press the OK button.

    πŸ“’ NOTE

    Ignore the EloView sign-up screen. The device will automatically sign in.


  6. Additional updates may be performed, including the installation of the Ventrata terminal app.

Create Terminal

To use an Elo tablet with the Ventrata terminal app, create a terminal entry for the device in the Ventrata dashboard.

  1. Go to Ticket Terminals > Terminals.

  2. If you use Destinations, select the destination for which you want to add the new terminal.

  3. Press the + New Terminal button.

  4. Enter β€˜Name’.

    Make sure to enter a descriptive name so the device is easily recognised in the list.


  5. Enter the device’s serial number.

    You can find the Serial Number on the back of the device (copy the number following S/N).

  6. Check or change the destination in which the terminal device will be used.

  7. Select the appropriate payment gateway.

  8. Select the configs for all connected devices, such as printers or scanners.

  9. Select the Terminals mode.

  10. Press the Create Terminal button.
