How to Set up CUSTOM Printers

Configure and connect your CUSTOM printer with Ventrata.

CUSTOM printers are manufactured by Custom S.p.A, an Italian company specialising in the design and production of advanced printing and scanning solutions. Known for their high-speed performance, durability and adaptability, CUSTOM receipt printers are a suitable match for integration with Ventrata.


Print Printer Configuration

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure the printer is connected to a power source.

  • Confirm the printer is connected to your local network via an Ethernet cable.

  1. Press and hold the FEED button on your printer to print the configuration report.


    πŸ“’ NOTE

    Depending on the printer model, the button may be labeled as LINE FEED (LF) or LP button instead of a FEED.


  2. On the printed report, locate:

    • IP address

    • DHCP client

  3. Verify these details:

    • Make sure that the IP address matches the address range of your local network.

    • Confirm that the DHCP client is enabled.

Change Printer Configuration

Use the Printer User Manual

If the IP address does not match your local network or if the DHCP client is disabled, please refer to the printer's user manual for guidance on making the necessary changes.

Use Android App

Download the CUSTOM PrinterSet app from the GooglePlay Store to update and customise the printer's firmware.

Computer running on Windows OS

  1. Visit the Custom4U.it website.

  2. Enter your printer's product code to check compatibility.

  3. Download the necessary tool to modify and update the printer firmware directly from your computer.


Printer over LAN

Connect your CUSTOM printer to a device using an Ethernet cable and create a config for the printer.

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Ticket Terminals > Configs.

  2. Press the + New Config button.

  3. Select 'Printer' from the list.

  4. Enter a name for the printer config.

    It is recommended to enter a descriptive name which includes the printer brand and connection type.


  5. Select 'Custom' printer type.

  6. Select the 'LAN' connection type.

  7. Enter the IP address.


    πŸ“’ NOTE

    The IP address must be in the following format: [ip_address]./[printer_model_number]. The printer must be connected to the same network as the Elo device.


  8. Select the correct paper width according to the printer's specifications.

  9. Press the Create Config button.


Add Printer Config to Terminal

Assign the newly created config to a terminal within the Ventrata dashboard.

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Ticket Terminals > Terminals.

  2. Select an existing terminal or create a new one.

  3. Scroll down the terminal form and select the BOCA template printer config you created above.

  4. Press the Update Terminal button.
