How to Configure Teltonika Devices

Teltonika routers with built-in GPS capability allow for real-time location tracking alongside robust networking features.

This article is a manual on how to configure Teltonika devices.

Teltonika routers are often used to provide reliable internet connectivity in environments where ticketing devices need to operate independently or in remote locations. Here’s how they integrate with Ventrata hardware:

Teltonika GPS trackers are used to track the location of vehicles or assets in real time.

To enable communication between the device and Ventrata, a configuration must exist in the Ventrata dashboard.


Create Configuration

Prerequisites:

  • Make sure your computer is connected to the internet.

  • Assemble the device according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  • Connect the device to the computer using an Ethernet cable.

Enable Server Settings

  1. Enter the device's web interface address (for example, 192.168.1.1) into your browser's address bar.

  2. Enter the password to access the device settings.


    📒 NOTE

    If this is you first time setting up the device, use the default password provided by the manufacturer. You will be prompted to change it—do so, then continue with the configuration.


  3. Navigate to Services > GPS.

  4. Press the HTTPS tab.

  5. Ensure the HTTPS/HTTP Server Settings are enabled.

  6. In the 'URL' field, fill in the address.

    Example: 192.168.1.198:1337

    • 192.168.1.198 is the IP address of the connected device such as an Elo tablet

    • 1337 is the default port number


      📒 NOTE

      It is strongly recommended that you use this port number. Use the same port number in the Ventrata config for your Teltonika device, see Create Teltonika Config in Ventrata.


    Enable HTTPS/HTTP Server Settings

  7. Press Save to save your changes.

  1. Log in to your Ventrata dashboard.

  2. Go to Ticket Terminals > Configs.

  3. Press the + New config button.

  4. Select 'Teltonika GPS'.

  5. Enter the device name.

  6. Enter the device's port number.


    📒 NOTE

    The default port number is 1337. This number must match the port number entered in the Teltonika web interface.


  7. Press the Create Teltonika Config button.

  8. Add this config to the terminal that the Teltonika device is connected to.
