How to Create Items

Create sales items that can be purchased individually or alongside a booking.

Create a New Item

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Products > Items.

  2. Press the + New Item button.

  3. Select the destination where the item will be sold.

  4. Enter a code, internal reference for the item.

  5. Select tags or start typing and press Enter to create a new tag.

  6. Enter the item's name.

    If you operate in multiple languages, enter the name in the different language variations.


  7. Enter a description as appropriate.

  8. Enter a category name.


    πŸ“’ NOTE

    This is a text field, not a selectable field. However, if you type the category exactly the same for multiple items, the system will group items in one category in the Ventrata Terminal app.


  9. Upload a cover photo.


    πŸ“’ NOTE

    The photo shows up only on certain channels, for instance, the backoffice.


  10. Enter a billing account code for the item to track sales of items in your ERP system.

  11. Check all the channels where the item will be sold.

  12. Select applicable tax rates if you need to indicate that information for accounting purposes.

  13. If the tax is included in the retail price, check the 'Tax Included' box.

  14. Enter the retail price of the item.

  15. Enter the value of costs associated with procuring or selling the item as appropriate.

  16. Press the Create Item button.
