Modifiers

Modifiers allow you to specify your settings using criteria such as options, tours, seasons, etc. In the Ventrata dashboard you will notice modifiers in the Rates and General Availability sections of the product page.

πŸ“’ NOTE

Typically a modifier, such as Option or Fare (as appropriate), may already be pre-selected under the MODIFIERS button.

When setting up your rates, be sure to set your prices also WITHOUT any modifiers selected. If not, the 'From' price will always display as 0. This affects how the 'From' price is shown in the backoffice, terminal app, web checkout, sales portals or on OTAs.

By default, all availability and rate modifiers are enabled on the product detail page.

  1. In your Ventrata dashboard, go to Products > Products.

    Products - Products

  2. Select an existing product.

  3. Scroll down the product form or simply search for 'modifiers'.

Disable Modifiers

You can choose to have the system ignore any previous settings made using the disabled modifier, as well as restrict further changes to availability and/or rate using particular modifiers.

  1. On the product form, deselect 'Run' in the Availability Modifiers column and 'Source' in the Rate Modifiers column.

    Deselect Modifiers

  2. Press the Update Product button.

    Update Product

  3. Notice how the 'Source' drop-down disappeared from the Rates section and 'Runs' from General Availability.

πŸ“˜ RESULT

You will not be able to set a different rate for either source. If there were any settings for any of the sources, the system will ignore those.

General Availability

πŸ“˜ RESULT

All previously entered run availabilities will be ignored. Any capacity settings will come from the product capacity on the product detail page. From now on, availability can be managed using 'Source'/'Month'/'Weekday' combination, but not 'Runs'.
