How Membership Login is Stored

This guide explains how member login works via a cookie stored in the browser and how to check its value.

When a customer logs in using their membership credentials (such as email, phone number, or membership reference), a cookie named ventrata-membership is stored in their browser.

This cookie contains the membership reference and last name, and keeps the customer logged in across your website. The login session persists until the cookie is deleted or expires.

Successful Membership Login

You can verify the existence of the cookie by right-clicking anywhere on the page and selecting Inspect. In the developer tools, go to the Application tab, then open the Cookies section in the left sidebar. Look for the ventrata-membership cookie. under your website's domain.

When you select the ventrata-membership cookie, you will see the stored membership reference and last name.
