How to Fix Bold Font Rendering Issues on Voucher PDFs

Problem

Certain Central and Eastern European characters are not displayed correctly when formatted bold on vouchers.


Reason

Built-in PDF fonts (Helvetica, Times New Roman, Courier) do not fully support special Central and Eastern European characters, such as:


Solution

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Products > Templates.

  2. Select the affected template.

  3. Press the Edit Layout button.

  4. In the voucher template editor, select the text element.

  5. In the horizontal toolbar, change the font to DejaVuSans.

  6. Press the Save button to save your changes.

  7. Navigate to the Bookings table.

  8. Select a booking of a product that is associated with the template.

  9. Press the Print Voucher button and select the applicable template.

  10. In the PDF voucher, verify that the character is correctly formatted.
