How to connect your product listings on Viator to Ventrata to sync availability, pricing, bookings & more

This connection enables you to sell your products on Viator in a more automated way, eliminating the need to manually manage availability, pricing and bookings in their Management Center. Capabilities of this connection allow you to:

Creating Connection

Before you begin:

  • You must have a supplier account with Viator and your products created in their Management Center before creating this connection. Admin login to the account will be needed to configure this connection. If you are not yet working with Viator, you can create an account here.

  • You must have Viator created as a Reseller in Ventrata with their pricing (retail, wholesale/commission) defined correctly. Note that this API connection requires that reseller is set to "Bill to my account" settlement method.

To setup your Viator connection for the first time you will need to first set Ventrata as your reservation system in Viator Management Center, and then create a connection in Ventrata:

  1. Log in to Viator Supplier Management Center, click on account name in the top-right corner, and go to Account.

  2. Under Connectivity tab, set/change your reservation system to Ventrata. This can be done by clicking Connect Now (if you are not currently API connected) or Edit (if you are connected to another system). Ventrata will receive and automatically accept the invitation to your account and will also automatically complete all other settings (including API key) when you create a connection in Ventrata.

Step 2: Create Connection in Ventrata

  1. In Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections → Connections, click + New Connection, and select Viator from the list of partners.

  2. Select your Viator Reseller from the list of your resellers (must be created before creating connection). The connection will inherit reseller's configuration like pricing, whitelisted destinations, products, etc.

  3. In the Viator Supplier Code field, enter your Viator Supplier ID, which can be found next to your name in Viator Supplier Management Center.

  4. (Optional) You can also set the connection Name of your choosing, which may be helpful if you have multiple Viator connections and would like to differentiate between them more easily in the future. If needed, you can also whitelist/blacklist products or destinations on the connection level in addition to what you have configured on the reseller, which can be helpful if you have multiple Viator connections linked to one reseller.


Mapping Products

Once the connection is created you can start linking your Viator products & options to corresponding Ventrata products & options - the process called "mapping". This can be done in either of these two ways:

Method 1: Self-Mapping using Ventrata Dashboard (recommended)

  1. In Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections → Connections, and select Viator connection which you would like to use for product mapping.

    The connection page will display a table where products and options (listings) that exist in your Viator account will display on the left and Ventarta products and options they are connected (mapped) to right now - on the right. Any active listings not mapped to Ventrata or mapped incorrectly will be highlighted in red.

  2. Click on Viator listing you would like to map. Select Ventrata product and, if prompted, option which you would like this listing to be connected to.

  3. Click Update Mapping. Ventrata will automatically complete the product mapping in Viator portal and your product will be connected.

    Note if your Viator products was not previously using Pricing API (aka Recurring Price Sync) it may take 2-3 business days for your pricing to be pulled via API and pricing you have manually configured in Management Center. If pricing is not enabled after 2-3 business days, please contact us.

Method 2: Self-Mapping using Viator Supplier Portal

  1. Log in to Viator Supplier Management Center, go to Products, and click Manage next to Viator product listing you would like to connect.

  2. Under Product Connection tab, select an option you would like to connect and click Edit next to it.
    use a reservation system and select Ventrata from the dropdown-list displayed.

  3. Next, select Ventrata Product and Option this Viator listing needs to be connected to from the dropdown list displayed. Click Save.

    Note you may be prompted to correct configurations errors like mismatch in data between systems before you can save mapping.

  4. Email [email protected] and [email protected] requesting for Pricing API to be enabled.

    Note if your Viator products was not previously using Pricing API (aka Recurring Price Sync) it may take 2-3 business days for your pricing to be pulled via API and pricing you have manually configured in Management Center. If pricing is not enabled after 2-3 business days, please contact us again.
