Unlike traditional OTA integrations, where bookings are transmitted at the time of purchase, Virgin Experience Gifts sends bookings via API only when the gift recipient redeems (schedules) their experience.

As a result, dynamic pricing and real-time pricing updates via API are not supported. To ensure accurate reporting, please configure custom static rates for Virgin Experience Gifts in your Ventrata account, ensuring they match the rates provided to your Virgin Experience Gifts contacts.

Creating Connection
Before you begin:
You must have a commercial agreement with Virgin Experience Gifts for them to sell your products. To inquire about partnering with them see https://www.virginexperiencegifts.com/partnership-inquiry
You must have Virgin Experience Gifts created as a Reseller in Ventrata with their pricing (retail, wholesale/commission) defined correctly, keeping in mind that only static rates are supported. Note that this API connection requires that the reseller is set to the "Bill to my account" settlement method.
In Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections โ Connections, click + New Connection, and select Virgin Experience Gifts (USA) from the list of partners.
โSelect Virgin Experience Gifts Reseller from the list of your resellers (must be created before creating a connection). The connection will inherit the reseller's configuration like pricing, whitelisted destinations, products, etc.
(Optional) You can also set the connection Name of your choosing, which may be helpful if you plan to have multiple Virgin Experience Gifts connections and would like to differentiate between them more easily in the future. If needed, you can also whitelist/blacklist products or destinations on the connection level in addition to what you have configured on the reseller, which can be helpful if you have multiple Virgin Experience Gifts connections linked to one reseller.
Mapping Products
Email the OCTO API key shown on the connection you've created to your Virgin Experience Gifts contact and ask for them to map your products using Ventrata's OCTO API. Typically it takes a few business days for the Virgin Experience Gifts team to complete this.
โ(Optional) While the Virgin Experience Gifts team can access the full list of products you've enabled for them on the connection, you can also specify which product you would like them to map by providing the Product and Option IDs displayed on the connection page when you contact them.
