The Verifone P400 and P400 Plus are PINpads that connect to POS environments via the internet. To integrate your device with your POS and connect to Ventrata, follow the steps below.
π NOTE
Before you begin the setup and configuration process, it is important that the device is is boarded and assigned to a store in your Adyen Customer Area.
Prerequisites:
The device is assembled and connected to the network via ethernet cable.
Make sure your device is boarded and assigned to a store in your Adyen Customer Area.
The
Ventrata terminal app is pushed to the device.
Configure Device Network
Press the number 9 on the numpad, then press the GREEN (O) button to access Settings.
Select Network.
Enter the device passcode and confirm with the Green (O) button.
π NOTE
The default passcode is
0856
. If this has been changed, please log in to your Adyen Customer Area and go to In-person payments > Terminals. Select your terminal to view the device details. Go to Passcodes, switch to 'Decrypted' mode and reveal the Admin & Settings passcode.(click on the image to enlarge)
Select Ethernet.
Make sure DHCP is disabled.
π NOTE
When DHCP is enabled, an IP address is dynamically assigned by the DHCP server. This address may change periodically and can affect the device which requires a consistent IP for proper initialisation. To avoid this, DISABLE DHCP and enter IP settings manually.
Enter the following:
IP address
Subnet Mask
Router
DNS-preferred
π NOTE

π TIP
Press the number 1 key until a dot (".") appears to separate numbers.
Press the blue checkmark in the bottom right corner of the screen to save your changes.
Press the RED (X) button to exit the settings.

Create Adyen Config
π NOTE
Before you create the Ventrata config, make sure the device has been boarded and assigned to a store in your Adyen Customer Area.
In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Ticket Terminals > Configs.
In the action bar, press the + New Config button.
Select βAdyenβ from the list.
Enter a name for the config.
π TIP
Use a clear, descriptive name by combining details like brand, device model and device type, for example, 'Adyen P400Plus - POS'.
Enter the deviceβs IP address in the βLocal Addressβ field.
π TIP
Enter the IP address in the following format:
http://[ip_address]
(for example,192.168.1.1
). This is only an example, please enter the actual IP address assigned to the network your device is connected to.π NOTE
If your Adyen device is used as a card reader connected to a POS terminal, make sure that both devices are connected to the same network.
Enter the device's POI ID, or the device name.
π TIP
The device name consists of the device model and serial number, separated by a hyphen. For example, the POI ID for a
P400Plus
with the serial numberXXXXXXXX
would beP400Plus-XXXXXXXX
, with the Xs replaced by the actual numbers.Press the Create Config button.
If the device is connected to a POS terminal, assign this config to the corresponding terminal.
