Airbnb is a global accommodation platform whose relaunched Experiences marketplace, live since May 2025, sells host-led activities across food and cooking, arts and crafts, wellness, sport, and city walks, alongside celebrity-fronted Airbnb Originals. The commercial draw is cross-selling to travellers already booking a stay in the destination.
This connection will enable you to sell your products on Airbnb Experiences in a more automated way, eliminating the need to manually manage availability, pricing, and bookings in the Airbnb Host Portal. The capabilities of this connection will allow you to:
Sync availability and pricing for your Airbnb listings with Ventrata.
Receive bookings and cancellations from Airbnb to Ventrata.
Issue vouchers/tickets from Ventrata to Airbnb customers instantly

Create Connection
Prerequisites:
Create a user account with Airbnb using any of the following: an email address and a password, phone number, Google or Apple account, Naver account (for South Korea).
Airbnb requires Identity Verification to be passed before your user account can connect via API. You will be required to provide user's Government ID, pass profile picture/selfie verification to pass this step, and verify your email address and phone number. You won't be able to connect via API until this step is complete.
Express your interest in working with Airbnb Experiences via this form, await feedback from the Airbnb team, and follow their instructions to complete your product listings.
You must have Airbnb created as a Reseller in Ventrata with their pricing (retail, wholesale/commission) defined correctly. This API connection requires that the reseller is set to the 'Bill to my account' settlement method.
Step 1: Create Connection in Ventrata
In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Connections > Connections.

Click the + New Connection button.

Select Airbnb from the list of partners.
Select Airbnb
Choose your Airbnb Reseller from the list (must be created before setting up the connection). The connection will inherit the reseller's configuration, like pricing, allowed destinations, products, etc.

(Optional) Enter a custom connection 'Name' which may be helpful if you have multiple Airbnb connections and would like to differentiate between them more easily in the future.
📗 TIP
If needed, you can also allow/disallow products or destinations on the connection level in addition to what you have configured on the reseller, which can be helpful if you have multiple Airbnb connections linked to one reseller.
Click the Create Connection button to save your settings.
Step 2: Connect Airbnb to Ventrata
Click the Connect with Airbnb button and allow Ventrata access:

Press the Allow button to approve the connection.

Come back to the connection page in Ventrata and refresh the page.
Mapping Products
Once the connection is created, start mapping your Airbnb listings to corresponding Ventrata products and options.
In the Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections > Connections, and select the Airbnb connection that you would like to use for product mapping.

The Connections page displays a table with your Airbnb products and options (listings) on the left, and the currently mapped Ventrata products and options on the right. Any active listings that are unmapped or incorrectly mapped are highlighted in red.
Mapping the product
Click on the Airbnb listing you would like to map. Select the Ventrata product and, if prompted, an option to which you would like this listing to be connected.
Update Connection Mapping
Click Update Mapping. Ventrata will automatically complete the product mapping in Airbnb, and your product will be connected.

Verify which destinations, products, and options are permitted for your reseller account and connection. Next, confirm that your products and options are enabled for sale on the Direct API source. If the issue persists, contact our Technical Support.

After every fare change, update the product mapping to ensure the partner tier counts are synced with Ventrata. Ensure the fare is enabled for sale over the Direct API.

Connection detail
Airbnb categorizes listings as either 'tour' or 'ticket'. If a listing uses the incorrect type, Ventrata cannot map it, and this error message appears.
To resolve this issue, contact your Airbnb account manager to update the listing type. Ventrata cannot change listing types.
