How to Use the Entry Scan Membership Benefit

Streamline member access through quick terminal scan redemptions.

Updated yesterday

Prerequisites:

Before you scan entries, make sure the following are set up:

  • A membership product created with the Entry Scan benefit.

  • If you are using counters, assign the same counter to both the location and the membership product.

    📒 NOTE

Counters only work in live mode. To test the Entry Scan benefit, both the membership product booking and the terminal must be in live mode. Otherwise, the scan will not recognise the ticket QR code.

  • Scan actions enabled on the terminal location:

    • 'Entry' (under Enable Scan Action)

    • 'Entry' (under Scan Counter Action)

  • If you are using destinations, make sure the destination matches the location and membership product.

Standard Scan

  1. In the Ventrata terminal app, go to the Scan tab.

    Scan

  2. Position the device scanner over the ticket QR code.

  3. Press the Scan Entry button at the bottom of the screen.

Scanned tickets display with indicators:

  • ✅ one tick = scanned offline

  • ✅ ✅ two ticks = synchronised with the server

  1. In the Ventrata terminal app, go to the Scan tab.

  2. Press the three-lined button with a tick in the top right corner to switch to Quick Scan mode.

    Scan

  3. Position the device scanner over the ticket QR code.

  4. The ticket is scanned for entry automatically.

📒 NOTE

A scan entry does not create a booking or check availability, so it is not restricted by capacity limits. However, entry is still limited by:

  • the counter limits you have set

  • the usage limits defined in the Entry Scan benefit, such as:

    • how many times the membership can be used per day / week/ month / year

    • the total number of times the membership product can be used during its lifetime

Track Scans

You can view all membership scans in the Scans table.
