How to Create Seasons

Seasons help define peak and off-peak times, allowing businesses to adjust their offering and prices accordingly.

Seasons play a key role in planning and pricing strategies. They help define peak and off-peak times, allowing businesses to adjust their offerings and prices accordingly.

Understanding and utilising seasonal trends enables you to optimise your resources and maximise customer satisfaction.


Create a Season

Create and configure a new season.

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Products > Seasons.

  2. Press the + New Season button.

  3. Enter a name for the season.

  4. If the season applies to an operator, select the operator from the drop-down field.

  5. Select a date range based on the travel date and/or booking date.

  6. If you already have seasons configured, you can copy the rates from an existing season.

  7. Check the 'Availability' box if the season affects product availability.

    📗 TIP

    If the 'Availability' option is checked, the Seasons availability modifier in the General Availability tab of the product level will include this season as an option.

  8. Select which rate types are affected by the season.

    If any of the rate types are checked, the Seasons availability modifier in the corresponding tab (Retail, Commission, Wholesale, Cost, or Strike) in the Rates table will include this season as an option.

  9. Select which products, resources, bands, and resellers are affected by the season.

    📗 TIP

    When no products or resources are selected, the season does not apply to any products or resources.

    When no bands or resellers are selected, the season applies to all bands and resellers.


  10. Press the Create Season button.

Add Seasonal Pricing

Configure seasonal prices for tickets and extras.

Prerequisites:

  • At least one rate type must be selected in the season configuration.

  • Products to which the season applies must have the 'Season' rate modifier checked on the Pricing & Tax tab.

  1. Navigate to the product for which the season applies.

  2. In the Rates table, navigate to the corresponding rate type tab, for example, Retail.

  3. Select the newly created season from the list modifiers.

    📒 NOTE

    You can specify additional modifiers alongside the season. However, avoid configuring modifiers that conflict with the season's settings (especially bands, resellers).


  4. Set the new prices for tickets and extras.

  5. Press the SAVE CHANGES button.

You can configure seasonal pricing for multiple products in the Pricing table.
