Disable Upgrades in Kiosk Mode

Upgrades are typically products offered to customers instead of their original selection to push sales of other products.

Upgrades, or comparisons (up-sell), are typically products offered to customers instead of their original selection to push sales of other products.

There are instances, however, where an upgrade is not possible with the customer's ticket type. When attempting to manage customer expectations, NOT offering an upgrade which is not available for purchase is the preferred course of action.

The Ventrata dashboard accommodates this requirement with a single checkbox in the Location settings.

Disable Upgrades

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Ticket Terminals > Locations.

  2. Select the location of the sales kiosk which should not offer upgrades.

  3. In the location form, search for the 'Allow Upgrades' checkbox.

  4. Press the Update Location button.


Allow Upgrades Enabled

The following elements are present in the app:

  • UPGRADE MY TICKET button is available on the start page

  • The Upgrade flow is available for products with upgrade (comparison) products


Allow Upgrades Disabled

The following elements are removed from the kiosk:

  • UPGRADE MY TICKET button is NOT available on the start page

  • The Upgrade flow is not available for products with upgrade (comparison) products
