How to Upgrade Bookings from the Dashboard

Upgrade from one product to another seamlessly while maintaining important booking data intact.

The 'Rebook' function allows users to upgrade from one product or option to another seamlessly.

When using 'Rebook', you do not modify the original booking; instead, the original booking is marked as 'Upgraded' and remains intact, while a second booking with the upgraded product is created. All customer and reseller information are inherited by the new booking.


Rebook Bookings

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Bookings > Bookings.

  2. Select a booking.

  3. Press the Rebook button.


    πŸ“’ NOTE

    When the Rebook button is used, a new booking is created and the original booking is flagged as 'Upgraded'. An warning is displayed onscreen about this change.


  4. The booking form appears onscreen.

  5. Make the necessary changes to the booking.


    πŸ“— TIP

    You can apply any valid promotion for product in the upgraded booking.


  6. Press the Checkout button to finish the booking.

  7. Collect any difference from the upgraded booking.


    πŸ“’ NOTE

    The difference is always calculated using the retail rate difference between two products, irrespective of any promotions applied to the original booking.


  8. The booking detail displayed is the new booking with the upgraded product.

The new booking

  • inherits customer details from the original booking,

  • inherits the last state of the original booking,

  • the total of the booking is the price difference between the original and upgraded booking, see Example below.

Example

In our example, the original booking cost 270 CZK (300 CZK - 10% discount).

The booking was upgraded from 'Standard' to 'Premium' option.

1 Adult ticket for the 'Premium' option costs 250 CZK.

The total of the new booking for 2 Adults would be 500 CZK, but the original booking (without the discount) was deducted from the new total: 500 - 300 = 200

The difference, therefore, is 200 CZK which is the price the customer has to pay for the upgrade.
