How to Create Dropoffs

Allow your customers to book a transfer to predefined dropoff points.

Customers can choose where they want to be dropped off after the tour. Dropoffs function independently from pickups.

The current dropoff functionality is available in Backoffice only. Other channels will follow in future updates.

Create a Dropoff

  1. In the Ventrata dashboard, go to Pickups > Dropoffs.

  2. If you are using destinations, make sure the correct destination is selected.

  3. Press the + New Dropoff button.

  4. Enter a name for the dropoff point.

    📗 TIP

    Customers will see the dropoff name when making a booking.


  5. Select an existing tag or start typing and press Enter to create a new tag.

    📗 TIP

    Tags are helpful when allowing or disallowing items in other areas of the dashboard. Instead of selecting multiple individual items, use tags to include all items using the same tag for your selection.


  6. Select a zone or start typing and press Enter to create a new zone.

  7. Start typing the dropoff address and select the correct address from the list of Google results.

  8. Enter directions that can help customers locate the dropoff point.

  9. Check the 'Hotel required' box if a hotel address must be entered to complete a booking. The system then finds the closest dropoff point to the hotel.


    📗 TIP

    Ventrata uses Google auto-complete according to the Google Place ID to offer hotels anywhere in the world as long as they have a Google Place ID.

    📒 NOTE

    Make sure that 'Allow Custom Dropoff' and 'Custom Dropoff Required' are disabled on the product detail if 'Hotel Required' is enabled on the dropoff, as the customer will be unable to select a hotel when custom pickup is enabled.


  10. Add a phone number where customers can reach your employees if they have trouble finding the dropoff point.

  11. Add a date range if the dropoff point is only available on certain dates.

  12. Check the 'Exact match' box if the customer must enter the precise address of the dropoff point when booking the event.

  13. If an exact match is not required, enter a dropoff radius (in miles). The address or hotel entered by the customer serves as the central point and dropoff points within the radius will be selected.

    1 mile = 1.60934 kilometres

    If you use the metric system, use this formula to calculate the dropoff radius.


  14. Press the Create Dropoff button.
