Booking.com Attractions Reseller Connection

How to connect your Booking.com products to Ventrata to sync product content, availability, pricing, bookings & more.

Booking.com is the world's largest accommodation platform and runs an attractions arm covering more than 3,200 cities, cross-selling tickets and tours to travellers who already hold a hotel reservation. Most of its experiences supply is sourced through OTA partners including Viator, TUI Musement, and Klook, with direct operator relationships reserved for high-volume, iconic attractions in Europe and the US.

This connection enables you to partner with Booking.com directly and sell your products on Booking.com Attractions by automatically syncing your product content, availability, pricing, and bookings, eliminating the need to manage them manually. The capabilities of this connection allow you to:

  • Sync product content from Ventrata to Booking.com.

  • Sync availability and pricing for your Booking.com products with Ventrata.

  • Sync public and non-public promotions from Ventrata to Booking.com.

Creating Connection

Prerequisites:

Before connecting to the Booking.com Attractions API, ensure you have:

  • A commercial agreement in place with Booking.com Attractions to use this integration. To enquire about a partnership, get in touch with [email protected] (Inesa Jasarevic, Senior Account Manager @ Booking.com Attractions) to start this process.

  • Booking.com created as a Reseller in Ventrata with their pricing (retail, wholesale/commission) defined correctly. Note that this API connection requires the reseller to be set to the "Bill to my account" settlement method.

  • The minimum required content information is completed for the Ventrata products you will sell on Booking.com.

  1. In the Ventrata Dashboard, go to Connections > Connections.

  2. Press the + New Connection button.

  3. Select 'Booking.com Attractions' from the list of partners.

    Select Booking.com Attractions

  4. Select 'Booking.com Reseller' from the list of your resellers (must be created before creating a connection).

The connection will inherit the reseller's (or reseller band's) configuration, like pricing, allowed destinations, products, etc.

    Select Booking.com Reseller

  5. (Optional) You can also set the connection 'Name' of your choosing, which may be helpful if you plan to have multiple Booking.com Attractions connections and would like to differentiate between them more easily in the future.

    📗 TIP

If needed, you can also allow/disallow products or destinations on the connection level in addition to what you have configured on the reseller or reseller band, which can be helpful if you have multiple connections linked to one reseller.

  6. Press the Create Octo Connection button.

Mapping Products

Email the OCTO API key shown on the connection you've created to your Booking.com Attractions contact and ask them to map your products using Ventrata's OCTO API. Typically, it takes a few business days for the Booking.com Attractions team to complete this.

📗 TIP

While the Booking.com Attractions team can access the full list of products you've enabled for them on the connection, you can also specify which products you would like them to map by providing the Product and Option IDs displayed on the connection page when you contact them.

  • The promotion is set NOT to be public.

The promotion is set as not public

  • BOOKING_CLOSED_USER_GROUP is entered in the 'Promotion Codes' field.

  • The promotion is only allowed for the Booking.com Attractions reseller.

📒 NOTE

Booking.com has to be blacklisted from all active promotions (public or not) you don't want them to use.

Disallow Reseller

When a booking is made on behalf of the closed user group on Booking.com, they will automatically check and apply any applicable promotions with the BOOKING_CLOSED_USER_GROUP code. Please remember promotions cannot be combined.

Troubleshooting

No products are displayed on the connection page.

Double-check which destinations, products, and options are allowed/disallowed on the reseller and connection. If this does not resolve the issue, check that your products and options are made available for sale on the Direct API source. If the issue persists, contact our Technical Support.
