Prerequisites:
If card payments are expected, make sure payment gateways are created in the Ventrata dashboard to be able to accept card payments.
Configs of external devices must be created in the Ventrata dashboard if used with the terminal device.
Create a New Terminal
Go to Ticket Terminals > Terminals.
Press the + New Terminal button.
Enter ‘Name’.
Check the 'Test Mode' box if the terminal is used for testing purposes.
📗 TIP
All bookings made through the terminal will also be marked as 'Test'. Once the supplier account is live, test booking data is ignored.
Select the language used on the device, this will affect the app language on the device.
Check the 'Kiosk Mode' box to limit seller access to the terminal device.
📗 TIP
If the terminal is in 'Kiosk mode', the seller can only use the device using the Ventrata Terminal app. To access device settings or the home screen, 'Kiosk mode' must be disabled.
Leave the 'Activated' checkbox disabled.
📗 TIP
The checkbox indicates whether the terminal is activated, i.e. in use, or not. The checkbox is automatically enabled when the terminal device is activated. Learn how to activate the terminal device.
Enter the device’s serial number.
📗 TIP
Depending on the device type, you may find the serial number printed on the back / bottom of the device or, if it has an operating system, in the About section of the Settings Menu. For further details on the location of the device serial number consult the manufacturer’s user manual.
Check or change the destination in which the terminal device will be used.
Select a payment gateway.
Select a label for internal reference.
Select all the configs of all peripheral devices used with the terminal device.
📒 NOTE
If the terminal device uses external devices, such as a payment terminal, GPS tracker or printer, a config of the external device must be created in the Ventrata dashboard.
Select the terminal ‘Mode’.
Terminals - your sellers use the terminal device to sell your products
Concierge - agents of a reseller use the terminal device to sell your products
Sales Kiosk - self-service mode; customers directly purchase your products without the help of your staff
3rd Party Operator - your sellers use the terminal device to sell third-party products
Command Only - the terminal device is used in command mode to authorise card payments
Scan Only - the terminal device is used solely to scan tickets or vouchers
